Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane was promoted to president of football operations this offseason, while offensive coordinator Joe Brady was elevated to head coach to replace Sean McDermott, who was fired. Buffalo has made the playoffs eight-out-of-nine years under Beane but the organization has never won the Super Bowl during their 66 years of existence.

Known for his propensity to trade back, Beane has been shaky in recent drafts with Day 1 selections. There has been much criticism surrounding the first round selection of wideout Keon Coleman in the 2024 NFL Draft, who has failed to deliver. The first round pick of tight end Dalton Kincaid in the 2023 NFL Draft was questionable, while 2022 first round pick, safety Kaiir Elam (Chiefs) flamed out with the club after three seasons.

A preseason knee injury to 2025 first round pick Maxwell Hairston stunted his growth during year one. He would miss six games and winded up starting just three. Despite a rocky rookie campaign, the Bills are banking on him to start opposite of Christian Benford, who has turned out to be one of the best draft picks ever made by Beane, who pegged the Villanova product in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The lack of high impact draft contributors in recent seasons has left Buffalo a bit shallow in terms of young building blocks. The Bills did manage to strike gold on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft with their selection of defensive tackle Deone Walker (pic: Buffalo Bills), who managed to start 16 games and vastly improved the run defense.

2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: OREGON DUCKS

The Oregon Ducks have been knocking on the national championship door under head coach Dan Lanning, one of the elite recruiters in the nation. Oregon has had at least one first round pick every year under Lanning and two in each of the past two drafts. The Ducks 2027 NFL Draft Class is shaping up to match, or exceed the 10 players the school had selected back in the 2025 NFL Draft, the most ever under Lanning.

One player expected to be under first round consideration is quarterback Dante Moore Jr., who returned to Eugene after receiving mixed grades from the NFL Advisory Board. There are plenty of positives that Moore has to offer but NFL scouts will want to see him play more consistently, especially under pressure and be able to see the complete field. Otherwise, he possesses all the tools to develop into a franchise signal-caller.

Following in the footsteps of another first round pick in Kenyon Sadiq (Jets), is tight end Jamari Johnson (pic: Oregon Athletics), whom many observers believe could wind up becoming the better pro prospect of the two. Another familiar target for Moore will also return in veteran wideout Evan Stewart. The speedster was hampered by injuries a year ago but is one of the faster players in the nation and can really stretch the opposing defense.

The Ducks defense is stacked with premier talent at every level, as they can bring pressure from the outside with edge rushers Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti, or up the middle with defensive tackles A’Mauri Washington and Bear Washington. Incoming transfer safety Bo Perich arrives to fill the void created by Dillon Theineman (Bears-Rd1). The staff, roster, cohesion and collection of talent could make for the first national championship in school history.

Few schools churn out more pro talent than thee Ohio State Buckeyes, who currently carry 68 players on active NFL rosters. The program has earned the ‘WR-U’ moniker, producing six wideouts who were selected in the first round over the past five drafts. What might be most remarkable is the fact that despite all of the Pro Bowl wideouts to hail from Columbus, the best prospect yet could very well be Jeremiah Smith.

Possibly the top player in college football, Smith has a chance to become the first Heisman Trophy winning wide receiver since DeVonta Smith (2020). Some may even classify Smith as a ‘generational talent,’ as he checks off all the boxes from a size, athleticism, route running, production, pedigree and experience standpoint. The Ohio State pipeline runs deep, as fellow wideouts Brandon Innis and Devin McCuin also stand a strong chance to be drafted.

The NFL scouting community will be excited about quarterback Julian Sayin (pic: OSU Athletics), who’s draft-eligible for the first time. He showed tremendous poise during his first year as a starter, nearly setting a new NCAA single-season record for completion percentage (77%). A smart, accurate passer with a loaded supporting cast, Sayin could also find himself in the Heisman Trophy conversation.

On defense, the most prominent prospect entering the season is massive edge rusher Kenyatta Jackson, who possesses ideal size, excellent length and overwhelming strength, which provides him the tools necessary to be a potential impact player at the next level. In addition, the Buckeyes feature a slew of outstanding defensive backs sure to attract the attention of NFL decision-makers. It would appear to be another bountiful crop of prospects from Ohio State in the 2027 NFL Draft.

UNITED BOWL PREVIEW

The United Football League (UFL) championship, the ‘United Bowl’, will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 3:00p ET on ABC, as the DC Defenders (6-5) attempt to defend their title against the Louisville Kings (7-4) at Audi Field in Washington, DC.

In what is expected to be a sold out crowd in favor of the hometown Defenders, music artist 50 Cent is scheduled to perform at halftime. DC advanced to the finals after a 28-22 victory over the top-ranked Orlando Storm (8-3). Defenders quarterback Jason Bean played an efficient game overall, completing 18-of-33 passes for 233 passing yards and one touchdown.

“These last few weeks that we’ve played have been tough, grinded out games,” DC head coach Shannon Harris stated. “But we just knew that if we just [had to eliminate] our mistakes and give ourselves a chance to get to the end of the game. We felt really good about winning the game.”

For Louisville, the glass slipper seems to fit in this Cinderella story, as the Kings opened up 0-3, before rallying to win six-of-the-last seven games. UFL Special Teams Player of the Year Tanner Brown connected on field goals of 63 and 61 yards to help Louisville advance 29-20 over the St. Louis Battlehawks.

“I’m so proud of everybody for never giving up,” Kings head coach Chris Redman said. “What an incredible example it is: When things are down and life says, ‘You can’t do it,’ you can still do it.”

As of press time, the Defenders are currently (-1.5) favorites over the Kings.

UNITED FOOTBALL LEAGUE AWARDS

The UFL has announced regular season awards as follows: Orlando Storm head coach Anthony Becht was named the UFL Buddy Teevans Coach of the Year, St. Louis Battlehawks defensive coordinator Corey Chamblin was named the UFL Assistant Coach of the Year, Battlehawks wide receiver Hakeem Butler was named the UFL Offensive Player of the Year, Louisville Kings outside linebacker Cam Gill was named the UFL No Bull Defensive Player of the Year and Kings kicker Tanner Brown was named UFL Special Teams Player of the Year. The League also named one Sportsman of the Year Award nominee from each of the eight UFL organizations.

With the conclusion of the UFL regular season, several players have already received NFL interest. The latest scheduled workouts reported come courtesy of James Larson (PFN). The Chicago Bears will work out Columbus Aviators linebacker Tony Fields II, St. Louis Battlehawks defensive back Sean Fresch Jr. will workout for the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans, The Broncos will also workout St. Louis Battlehawks running back Kevon Latulas and Orlando Storm cornerback Josh Minkins and the New York Jets will work out Houston Gamblers wideout Kaden Davis.

After a 5-2 start in what appeared to be a promising campaign, Northwestern would go onto win just two more games the rest of the way, finishing up 7-6 on the season. However, there is much optimism surrounding head coach David Braun, an up-and-comer who enters his fourth season at the helm at just 41 years-old. He has surrounded himself with some excellent offensive minds in new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and quarterbacks coach Jerry Neuheisel.

The Wildcats return a handful of key players, including big-bodied wideout Griffin Wilde, who proved that the step up in level of competition from FCS-to-FBS was none too great during his first season in Evanston. A career-year could be in store for the former South Dakota State product and red zone mismatch weapon. Especially, if incoming transfer quarterback Aidan Chiles can fulfill his potential in what could be a dangerous offense.

Northwestern should own a solid one-two punch in the backfield, as Gavin Sawchuk transferred in from Florida State to pair with returning leading rusher Caleb Komolafe (pic: Northwestern Athletics). Northwestern ran the ball nearly 54% of the time in 2025, a number that figures to increase this season. On defense, ball-hawk safety Robert Fitzgerald plays as if his hair is on fire, racking up 114 tackles a year ago.

The second week of the Continental Football League (CoFL) is in the books, as momentum continues to grow and teams begin jockeying for positioning towards the ‘Continental Cup,’ scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026. Here’s a look at what occurred this past weekend during Week 2 action:

The Cincinnati Dukes downed the Kentucky Calvary by the score of 54-24 at Atrium Stadium in Mason, Ohio. The Dukes are no stranger to the alternate football landscape, having stepped up in weight class this season. They previously participated in the Blue Collar Football League (BCFL), where they were back-to-back champions, prior to competing in the CoFL.

Despite a 17-minute time of possession disparity in favor of the Calvary, the Dukes were able to outscore their opponent due to a potent passing attack. Cincinnati quarterback Kimani Murray created numerous explosive plays, completing an efficient 15-of-25 passes, for 424 yards and six touchdowns. A four-time BCFL MVP and three-time Offensive Player of the Year, Murray has amassed more than 7,000 passing yards and 196 touchdown passes during his time with the Dukes.

Several wideouts got in on the action, as Murray sprayed the ball around the parking lot, with three of his targets exceeding the 100-yard barrier. That trio included Hezekia Miller (four catches, 110 yards, one touchdown), Michael Crawford (four catches, 108 yards, two touchdowns) and Tyrell Sanders (three catches, 109 yards). Dukes running back Darnell Williams added 119 rushing yards on five carries, after running for 108 yards in Week 1.

Cincinnati linebacker Ivory Parker was a standout for the second straight week, matching his Week 1 total of nine tackles (including two tackles for loss). For Kentucky, running back Ras’j Britton was a consistent presence, rushing 16 times for 57 yards. The Calvary will be on a bye in Week 3, while Dukes head coach Daryl ‘Slash’ Moore will prepare his team to host the Ohio Valley Ironman on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 7:00p ET on United Football Media.

In other action, the Texas Syndicate squeezed past the Tall City Black Gold by a score of 23-20 at Astound Broadband Stadium in Midland, Texas. It was a big first victory for Texas, who were shut out by the San Antonio Toros 24-0 last week. The Syndicate were led by a suffocating defense which included three interceptions on the evening, including two by safety Abraham Temoney. Linebacker Tedrick Lowery led the team with five tackles. Texas will be on a bye in Week 3, while Tall City will face San Antonio on Saturday, June 13, 2026 on United Football Media.

2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS

Once a blue-blood program, Nebraska hit rock bottom under Scott Frost (2018-22). The school has since gone from a bottom of the barrel program to a respectable one during the past three years with Matt Rhule. However, premier talent has been hard to come by when it comes to NFL prospects. Only five Cornhuskers have been drafted during that span and just one player in the 2026 NFL Draft (Emmett Johnson Rd5-Chiefs).

Surprisingly, the school has not had an offensive lineman drafted in five years. That streak will likely come to a halt in the 2027 NFL Draft. Nearly the entire Nebraska starting offensive line is on the NFL radar, led by offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett (photo: Nebraska Athletics). The former five-star recruit originally began his career at Alabama and brings experience at both the left and right tackle positions.

Manning the middle is experienced center Justin Evans, one of the best in the nation. Another versatile player, Evans has experience at all three spots along the interior of the offensive line and utilizes sound, crisp technique to compensate for his lack of size. Meanwhile, veteran offensive guard Brendan Black comes over from Iowa State, where he started parts of three seasons for the Cyclones. On defense, the strength lies within the secondary.

Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck has established himself as one of the top head coaches in college football. Known for being a well-coached, highly competitive program, Fleck has guided the Gophers to an impressive 7-0 record in bowl games during his past decade at the helm. With an expanded College Football Playoff format, the school poses as a dark horse candidate to sneak in.

Surprisingly, Minnesota had just one player chosen in the 2026 NFL Draft (Deven Eastern Rd7-Seahawks). The previous year, the school saw three players selected during the 2025 NFL Draft. During the 2020 NFL Draft, Fleck produced a draft class that featured five players chosen. There is a very good chance that the Gophers could match, or exceed that total for the 2027 NFL Draft.

The offense will be guided by quarterback Drake Lindsey, who enters his second season as the starter and veteran running back Darius Taylor (pic: Minnesota Athletics). Both prospects project as mid-to-late round draft targets. On defense, the alluring size and athleticism of pass-rusher Anthony Smith could make him the highest rated player from the Gophers.
