2025 NFL DRAFT BIG BOARD: DEFENSIVE TACKLES
There has been much ado made about the stealth defensive tackle class in this year’s NFL Draft. Sitting atop our big board is Mason Graham, a projected top five overall talent. The Michigan menace has served as a disruptive playmaker with his ability to line up and down the defensive line, while applying constant pressure on the quarterback. His performance this past season earned him consensus All-American honors, as he is considered to be a true blue-chip prospect.
We got a glimpse of the fleet-footed Walter Nolen at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. The Ole Miss product is quick off the ball snap and displays excellent agility, enabling him to often blow up the opposing backfield. Expect him to factor into the first round equation. In fact, it’s very possible to see as many as five or more defensive tackles selected in the first round, a feat that last occurred in the 2019 NFL Draft (six).
Look for the depth of the position to run well into Day 3, although the real value to be had could be on Day 2, where potential starters can be found. Players such as Howard Cross III of Notre Dame, Cam Jackson of Florida and Sai’vion Jones of LSU would all fall into that category. One name to keep an eye on is Jordan Phillips of Maryland who turned heads at the East-West Shrine Bowl and could land inside the top 100 overall. He’s expected to test well at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.
