2025 NFL DRAFT BIG BOARD: WIDE RECEIVERS
The NFL Draft Class of 2026 wide receiver group has more variety than a candy store at the Jersey Shore boardwalk. Those organizations in need of a playmaker are in luck, as we are expected to hear wideouts come off the board early and often.
One common theme amongst our top five wideout prospects, none participated in the all-star circuit. Most likely due to the fact that they have solidified their draft stock based on game film. It remains to be seen how many of the top players will participate in the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of the month but should Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona opt to compete, it could be one of the all-time great performances we have ever witnessed in Indy. There are whispers that the 6-4, 210-pound boundary target could run one of the fastest forty-yard dash times, which would be rather impressive at his size. His rare combination of length and athleticism project him as a top 10 pick.
If speed is the need, a pair of electrifying slot wideouts are in contention to be chosen in round one, including Luther Burden of Missouri and Isaiah Bond of Texas. These are two of the faster players in the draft and both have a relatively proven resume, competing in the SEC, which is why they project as potential first round selections. However, Bond might not even be the best wide receiver prospect on his own team. That distinction could go to teammate Matthew Golden who was a late draft entry.
Amongst the ‘Best of the Best,’ at the Reese’s Senior Bowl would be Jack Bech of TCU, who won game MVP honors in dramatic fashion. The comparisons to Puka Nacua are warranted, as a big body, vertical weapon who can make plays all over the field. Meanwhile, Oregon speedster Tez Johnson proved to be one of the most elusive players but also comes with size concerns at just 156 pounds. He would be the lightest player in the NFL not named Kavontae Turpin.
Expect to see plenty of depth with about three dozen wideout prospects who carry a ‘draftable’ grade in this year’s crop. A few under the radar players worth monitoring are Jalen Royals of Utah State, who drew some first round buzz earlier in the year but suffered a season-ending foot injury, along with Isaiah Neyor of Nebraska who looked as good as any receiver we saw at the East-West Shrine Bowl but comes with some background concerns that need to be checked into and LaJohntay Wester of Colorado who duals as an explosive return man.
