Fresh off their biggest win during the Jeff Brohm era in an impressive victory over the Miami Hurricanes, several Louisville players are gaining steam amongst the NFL scouting community. In 2025, the Cardinals saw quarterback Tyler Shough selected in the second round with the No.40 overall pick by the New Orleans Saints. It was the highest player drafted by the program since offensive guard Mekhi Becton was chosen with the No.11 overall pick by the New York Jets.
For the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, Louisville could once again produce another first round prospect in wideout Chris Bell. The big-bodied, aggressive wideout has been a menace for the opposition, stepping up with clutch plays in big moments. In fact, it’s very possible that the Cardinals could wind up with more than the four players they had drafted in the Class of 2024, something that hasn’t happened in over a decade (2015).
