2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: FLORIDA GATORS

Location: Gainesville, FL || Conference: SEC || Head Coach: Jon Sumrall (First Year; Career: 43-12) || Number of 2026 NFL Draft Picks: 7 || Gators in NFL: 50 (as of 5/10/26)

There are many first-year head coaches in the SEC this year but none hotter than new Gators headman Jon Sumrall, who built winning program at Troy (2022-23) and Tulane (2024-25). Florida hopes the arrival of Sumrall finally brings stability to the program. Since Urban Meyer departed in 2010, the Gators are now on their fifth head coach, none of which has lasted more than four seasons.

Despite their lack of recent success, Florida has had seven players chosen in each of the past two drafts after seeing just one player chosen during the 2024 NFL Draft (Ricky Pearsall). Surprisingly, Sumrall brought in just two players over with him from the Green Wave, kicker Patrick Durkin and punter Alec Clark. Luckily, the Gators return several key players including Jadan Baugh, a top-rated running back, along with top defenders in linebacker Myles Graham and Bryce Thornton.

One high profile acquisition they did manage was the addition of wideout Eric Singleton Jr., who changes his SEC allegiance coming over from Auburn. Another portal addition includes former Cincinnati running back Evan Pryor, who should pair with Baugh to form one of the most potent ground attacks in the conference. Overall, this roster is rich in talent.

We have highlighted a whopping 20 draft-eligible prospects from Florida on the NFL radar below. Be sure to bookmark this page and check back periodically for updates, as we will be adding individual player evaluations throughout the season.
