Breakout Players
OT Wanya Morris - The heat is on Morris, after a bumpy first year. The Chiefs went back to the draft to add some competition with the selection of Kingsley Suamataia in the second round.
LB Leo Chenal - An unsung hero of the Chiefs defense, Chenal came up clutch with big plays in the Super Bowl, something he did during the regular season as well. He has totaled 100 tackles through his first two seasons, a number he could double as a full-time starter in ‘23.
CB Jaylen Watson - It was a tough year for Watson who battled through a torn labrum injury for most of the season and underwent surgery during the offseason. With L'Jarius Sneed jettisoned to Tennessee, Watson will be expected to step into the spotlight and embrace a more prominent role on defense.
2024 NFL Draft Class
With all the hoopla surrounding Rashee Rice, the trade maneuver with conference-rival Buffalo to move up and select speedster Xavier Worthy was a brilliant move. Anyone up for some pitch and catch? The Chiefs have done well developing offensive linemen and Kingsley Suamataia is a project who possesses great athleticism. Look for Jared Wiley to be an excellent addition in 12 and 13 personnel.
