AAF 2026 ALTRUA HEALTHSHARE ALL-HULA BOWL TEAM

Welcome to the January 15, 2026 edition of the All Access Football Newsletter.

The 2026 All Access Football Altrua HealthShare All-Hula Bowl Team is based on player performance throughout the week of practice and game. Selections were made based on input from the following panelists: Hula Bowl executive director Todd Worly, NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger, CBS Sports analyst Emory Hunt and AAF founder Ric Serritella, along with feedback gathered from NFL scouts.

It was a strong showing for quarterbacks in attendance, with four different signal-callers submitted amongst our voters. Our All-Hula Bowl First Team selection is Derek Robertson of Monmouth, who flashed a pro-level arm and consistency throughout the entire week. Our All-Hula Bowl Second Team quarterback is Jake Retzlaff of Tulane, who had the best overall performance on game day, while Kyron Drones of Virginia Tech won our tie-breaker based on scout feedback for All-Hula Bowl Third Team honors. Rutgers rifleman Athan Kaliakmanis missed out by a narrow margin but was selected to participate in the American Bowl next week, so he’ll have another opportunity to impress NFL decision-makers.

While Pittsburgh running back Desmond Reid did not make our All-Hula Bowl Team, it should be noted that he remains one of the most dangerous returners in this year’s draft. The Hula Bowl was not a conducive environment to showcase his skill-set, Reid still stands an outside chance to hear his name called late come April. A steady standout all week long, Maryland wideout Jalil Farooq boosted his draft stock significantly during Hula Bowl week, as he flashed sharp route running, sticky hands and quick upfield burst after the catch.

Another player who did not go unnoticed was Syracuse tight end Dan Villari, whose performance earned him a call-up to the Panini Senior Bowl. The top overall rated prospect in attendance may very well be Florida State mammoth offensive tackle Micah Pettus who boasts enormous upside due to his stout anchor, agility and experience.

On defense, Virginia pass-rusher Mitchell Melton was sure to turn heads with a quick get off, high motor, efficient hand combat and developed pass-rush repertoire— he projects as an exciting developmental prospect, while Jackson Kuwatch of Miami-Ohio continues to blaze his path to the draft and owns a remarkable backstory as a former walk-on from Ohio State. Meanwhile the length, smooth movement and coverage skills of USC cornerback Decarlos Nicholson was on full display all week long.

Without further ado, All Access Football is proud to present the 2026 Altrua HealthShare All-Hula Bowl Team:
