DRAFT INSIDER: B1G CLASH SPARKS FLAMES

In this week’s All Access Football ‘Draft Insider,’ we shine the spotlight on the Big Ten clash between the UCLA Bruins (3-4) and Indiana Hoosiers (7-0), two of the hottest teams in college football, for very different reasons.

The Bruins entered the season with much hype surrounding transfer quarterback Nico Iamaleava but sputtered out of the gate, dropping their first four games. UCLA would show head coach DeShaun Foster the exit door and in stepped interim head coach Tim Skipper, who has guided the team to three straight victories. The tantalizing Iamaleava has since gotten back on track under the guidance of new offensive coordinator Jerry Neuheisel. On the season, the Bruins signal-caller has completed 65.2% of his passes, for 1,355 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions, adding 360 rushing yards, plus four more scores via the ground.

Meanwhile, the Hoosiers come off one of their biggest wins in program history, upending the Oregon Ducks and staking claim as the number two ranked team in the nation. Indiana headman Curt Cignetti continues to win, importing a slew of Sunday level talent. The most notable portal acquisitions would be Fernando Mendoza, who has gained momentum as the top signal-caller eligible for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. The pocket-passer has certainly flashed all the tools required to succeed at the next level, acing every test in front of him. He has completed an impressive 73.5% of his passes, for 1,755 yards, 21 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Ironically, the bristling Bruins squad could be the most difficult opponent yet for the Hoosiers. “We’re playing a 3-0 football team that’s undefeated, that’s 3-0 in the conference since they have retooled their staff,” Cignetti told reporters earlier this week. “Very impressive football team.”

Impressive indeed. While Iamaleava is the Bruins star attraction, there are several prominent UCLA prospects catching the attention of NFL scouts. Below, we have highlighted 19 players from the program with draft-eligibility who could latch on at the next level. In addition, we have outlined 19 additional prospects from the Indiana program. In total, you will learn about 38 players, including 10 in-depth scouting reports, along with verified measurements and draft projections for each player.
