DRAFT INSIDER: FLORIDA CUP PROSPECT PREVIEW

The Florida Cup rivalry which began in 1951, between two in-state schools, separated by 500 miles, is set to resume this Saturday at 7:30pm eastern time on ESPN. The game has heavy ACC implications and the winner will strengthen their case for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Florida State enters the matchup coming off a stunning double OT loss to Virginia under the Friday Night Lights a week ago. Seminoles people mover Darrell Jackson has been a stalwart in the middle of the defensive line, often absorbing double and triple teams, while establishing himself as a potent run-stuffer. This could very well be the toughest battle of his career thus far. On offense, Florida State big-bodied playmaker Duce Robinson has emerged as one of the most explosive players in the nation, as his arrow continues to point up amongst NFL evaluators. In total, we have listed 15 Seminoles prospects on the draft radar below.

For Miami, they have national championship aspirations with impressive wins over Florida and Notre Dame on their resume. Coming off a bye week, the Hurricanes are considered slight favorites (-4.5), led by quarterback Carson Beck who has been lights out and is an early-season frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy. In fact, Beck could become the first quarterback since Brock Berlin (2003-04) to go 5-0 against Florida and Florida State for his career. Overall, we have outlined a dozen Miami prospects below, including three Hurricanes who carry a first round grade, including edge rusher Reuben Bain (photo: Miami Athletics), who is viewed by some as the top overall pro prospect in the country.
