ALL ACCESS FOOTBALL REPORT
Another exciting and unpredictable week of college football is in the books, as the first half of the season has flown by us faster than a speeding bullet. Several significant marquee matchups highlighted many of the prospects ranked amongst our top 50 overall for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Here are some of the top storylines from the weekend, along with our updated Top 50 Big Board:
TOP PROSPECT COULD BE OUT
Colorado wideout/cornerback Travis Hunter left the Buffaloes game against Kansas State this past week due to a shoulder injury, which could leave the leading Heisman Trophy contender shelved for several weeks. It has yet to be determined how much action Hunter will miss but an extended period of time could make him question whether his focus should be on college football, or preparing for the pros. Colorado was unable to hold off Kansas State and they now enter the thick of their Big 12 schedule. Just six games remain in the regular season and the Buffaloes are not considered to be a prime contender for the College Football Playoffs. Have we seen the last of Hunter in black and gold? Stay tuned.
SIGNAL-CALLER SHOWDOWN ON THE SLATE
Texas saw the return of quarterback Quinn Ewers, as he guided the Longhorns to a dominating victory over Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. For Ewers, it may have been a warmup game for him to kick off some rust before what could be the biggest start of his career up to this point, in terms of how NFL evaluators view him. Ewers will lead the No.1 ranked team in the country into Athens, in an attempt to take down the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs. This contest also brings boku ramifications for Carson Beck of Georgia, who lost a quarterback duel to Jalen Milroe of Alabama a few weeks ago. There is no consensus yet, as to who the first quarterback off the board will be come April, as Colorado enigma Shedeur Sanders is also thought to be in the mix. This week could help sort the pecking order.
THE MORE YOU CAN DO
Penn State tight end Tyler Warren had a breakout showing in Hollywood for the Nittany Lions, as he battered his way through the USC defense, tying the FBS single-game record with 17 receptions, for 244 receiving yards and one touchdown. Warren lined up at tight end, wideout, in the slot, h-back, running back and quarterback, which he played in high school. The performance was enough to move Warren ahead of Colston Loveland (Michigan), as our No.1 rated tight end prospect in the land. Did we mention he can also long snap? We just saw Cole Kmet of the Bears score two touchdowns and then stay in the game to long snap for the point after attempt due to injury during their London game on Sunday morning. Looks like Warren could be next in line.
