The Oklahoma State Cowboys are in a current state of transition as they search for a new head coach after the firing of Mike Gundy. During his 21 seasons at the helm, Gundy produced a 170-90 record, including 37 draft picks and six first round selections.

In the 2025 NFL Draft, Oklahoma State saw four players chosen, including third round pick Nick Martin (49ers), plus an additional five players who earned NFL spots as undrafted free agents. The year prior, the Cowboys were shut out of the NFL Draft entirely. In recent years, Oklahoma State has churned out numerous mid-to-late round selections. However, it has been over ten years since they last produced a first round draft pick in Justin Gilbert (2014 NFL Draft).
