ARCH MANNING RUNS A COUNTER ON ARCHIE
Don’t believe everything you hear. Especially when it comes to predicting the NFL Draft. Earlier this month, legendary Saints quarterback Archie Manning, the grandfather of Texas quarterback Arch Manning (photo: Texas Longhorns Athletics) declared that Arch would not be declaring for the draft after this season and that he “would stay at Texas.” The mainstream media took it as gospel and ran with it. Yet, that sentiment never made any real sense.
On Tuesday, Arch ran a counter on those remarks. “Yeah I don’t know where he got that from,” Manning was quoted in a story by On.3. “He texted me and apologized about that. I’m really just taking it day by day right now.” Arch is currently the No.1 rated prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft on the NFL Draft Bible Big Board. In fact, there is a very good chance that those same New Orleans Saints could land the No.1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. If not, odds suggest that the Indianapolis Colts (Peyton Manning’s old team) may even have the No.1 selection. Surely, Archie has the foresight to see what a marketing coup this would be?
Despite taking a back seat to Quinn Ewers over the past two seasons, the 21-year old Manning has been hyped much like Caleb Williams during his time at USC. The fact is, it’s easy to see the elite level traits that Manning possesses. A strong, accurate arm, ideal frame, ability to scramble when needed, a winning pedigree from his high school days. The Longhorns are one of the favorites to win the National Championship this year. Should that occur, Manning would likely be a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Much easier said then done but in that scenario, there would be nothing left to prove. Even if he falls short of collecting the precious hardware that comes with those accolades, Manning is likely to leave no doubt about his NFL talents come decision time in January. One thing is clear, the choice will be on Arch to make.

CADE KLUBNIK REHABBED IMAGE
There is sure to be plenty of competition for the rights to become the No.1 overall pick next April. One of those names making the rounds is Clemson signal-caller Cade Klubnik (photo: Clemson Athletics). A three-time Texas state champion in high school, who re-wrote the record books, Klubnik arrived to Clemson as the top-rated recruit from the Class of 2021. He would see limited time as a freshman before assuming the starting role as a sophomore, in a year that had more twists and turns than ‘Action Park.’
Expectations are high at Clemson and Klubnik felt the brunt of his performance on campus. "Everybody kind of told me I sucked and wasn't very good," Klubnik said. "A lot of people wanted me out of Clemson." However, one individual who never wavered on his ability was Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney, who calls Klubnik an "amazing human being." The persistent faith installed confidence in Klubnik headed into his junior campaign. He would respond with a career year, throwing for 3,639 passing yards and 36 touchdowns, to just six interceptions.
Along the way, Klubnik proved to have ice in his veins, performing well under pressure and coming up big in he clutch. This season, a renowned maturity level has been noticeable from the goofy, laid back Austin native. Fellow teammate and top target Antonio Williams has noticed a more vocal Klubnik, stating when Klubnik speaks up, teammates pay attention. The rehabbed image has translated over to the scouting community, where Klubnik received relatively high grades amongst NFL evaluators this past spring. The faith, the belief and execution have all added up and now Kulbnik is in position to enter the conversation as one of the top draft-eligible quarterback prospects in the nation.
MUST-SEE TV: PANINI SENIOR BOWL DOCUMENTARY
On Tuesday, the third episode of ‘The Draft Starts in Mobile (All Access), Powered By Panini,’ was released on YouTube. The well-produced docu-series takes viewers behind the scenes of the Panini Senior Bowl in Mobile, where over 100 of the top pro prospects compete for the right to be chosen in the NFL Draft.
If you are fascinated by the NFL Draft process, or want to better understand how the pre-draft evaluation process works, the series is well worth watching. The final episode showcases the 76th Senior Bowl Game, played before a sold-out crowd at Mobile’s Hancock-Whitney Stadium. Through behind the scenes footage and sound from the locker rooms to the sidelines, the high stakes week of NFL auditions comes to a dramatic conclusion on the field. (photo: Senior Bowl)
Players featured include quarterbacks Jaxson Dart (Giants), Riley Leonard (Colts), Dillon Gabriel (Browns), Tyler Shough (Saints), and Taylor Elgersma (Packers); standout defensive linemen Oluwafemi Oladejo (Titans), Landon Jackson (Bills), Walter Nolen (Cardinals) and Junior Tafunna (Texans). Plus, the tragic and inspirational story of Jack Bech (Raiders), who took home MVP honors, just weeks after his older brother (Tiger Bech) was murdered in a New Year’s Eve terrorist attack in New Orleans. If you have never had the opportunity to experience the Senior Bowl in person, this is the closest feel for being there and we highly recommend it.
