Evaluation: The mesmerizing blend of size, arm strength and scrambling ability, makes Green one of the more exciting prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft. While his overall game is still a bit raw,
Green owns a live arm and is known for making game-breaking plays, with the ability to make opponents pay with his arm, or his legs. Last season, Green registered career-highs in passing yards (3,154) and touchdown passes (15) during his first season in the SEC, after transferring from Boise State. The Texas native also rushed for 602 yards, demonstrating a physical style, able to break tackles due to his size and toughness, adding eight scores via the ground. Green has been one of the more effective short-yardage runners in the nation with 27 rushing touchdowns over the past three seasons. What has prevented Green from being mentioned amongst the top signal-callers in the nation is his questionable decision-making. However, Razorbacks offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino was bullish on Green in the spring, stating that he feels much more comfortable his second year in the system. If he is able to cut down his turnovers, look for Green to take the next step in his maturation and engrave his name in record books aside the likes of Ryan Mallett, Tyler Wilson and Brandon Allen.
Background: A three-star recruit out of Lewisville High School in Texas; as a junior, threw for 2,217 yards and 25 touchdowns with only three interceptions, added 445 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. As a senior, totaled 2,431 passing yards and 22 touchdowns, also ran for 653 yards and seven touchdowns on the year. Was also a member of the track team (school record holder in the long jump).
