SCOUT NOTEBOOK
Over the past decade, the North Dakota State Bison have won six FCS National Championships, while producing an impressive 11 NFL Draft selections, including three first round picks. Don’t look now but the Bison could have another prospect charging towards the round one.
On Saturday, the top-ranked Bison (10-0, 8-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference) extended their winning streak to 15 consecutive games, dating back to last season, defeating Northern Iowa 48-16. Superstar wideout Bryce Lance demonstrated once again why he is considered the premier small school prospect in the nation with another dominating performance, which included 131 receiving yards, highlighted by a 51-yard bomb from draft-eligible signal-caller Cole Payton.
The electrifying Lance is one of two dozen players who have officially been invited to the 101st East-West Shrine Bowl at The Star in Arlington Texas. For the second consecutive week, the All Access Football Scout Notebook shines the spotlight on the first wave of prospects invited to the prestigious event. Last week, we examined eight players invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl, with complete in-depth scouting reports.
This week, we break down an additional seven players who have since received their invitation, led by the ascending Lance. In addition, you’ll learn about an intriguing prospect from Wyoming who possesses rare athleticism, plus four offensive line maulers sure to intensify East-West Shrine Bowl practices in the trenches with their tenacious style of play, including one former walk-on who projects as a Day 1 starter at the NFL level and a defensive playmaker from the MAC, laying down the smack!
