THE GAME: NO.1 OHIO STATE (11-0) AT NO.15 MICHIGAN (9-2)

Simply known as ‘The Game,’ the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry is one of the longest running feuds in sport, dating back to 1897. The Wolverines lead the all-time series 62-51-6 and more recently, have owned Buckeyes during the 2020’s.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day recorded a win during his first season in Columbus but has since dropped the past four games to Michigan, making for even more drama for this weekend’s most anticipated game.

Last year’s loss to the Wolverines ignited a spark in the Buckeyes, as they went on to run the table and bring home the ninth national championship in school history.

“We’ve been working toward this all year, and we know that the opponent is different,” Day said this week. “We know what’s at stake.”

Meanwhile, second-year Michigan headman Sherrone Moore has the Wolverines primed for this Big Ten matchup, which will make or break their season. A win for Michigan would mean a chance to play in the Big Ten Championship and a possible path to the College Football Playoff.

“We win this, we’re in the playoffs,” Michigan tight end Marlin Klein declared earlier this week. “If you win this game, you’ll be remembered in Ann Arbor forever.”

In one of the key underlining stories entering ‘The Game,’ both schools will rely upon freshman signal-callers to guide their offense. For Ohio State, freshman sensation Julian Sayin leads the nation with a stunning 79.4 completion percentage and almost unheard of 185.38 passer rating.

While Sayin has elevated himself amongst the leading Heisman Trophy contenders, the road for Bryce Underwood of Michigan has been a bit bumpier. The top-rated quarterback recruit in the nation a year ago, Underwood struggled early on in the season with his decision-making but has since steadied the ship, guiding the Wolverines to five straight victories entering this contest.

The Buckeyes are expected to have top wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate back in action, after both players missed last week’s game against Rutgers. However, Michigan will be without top runner Justice Haynes and safety Rod Moore. Ohio State enters as 9.5-point favorites but expect a heated battle that could go down to the wire. It’s truly time to buckle up and hunker down, for ‘The Game.’

With so much Sunday talent expected to be on the field this Saturday, we have ranked the top 25 prospects on Ohio State and Michigan below.
