A father. A lawyer. A professor. An agent. An all-star game pioneer. While he was taken from us far too soon, Michael Quartey lived a full life. Few individuals command the type of respect that Quartey had within the football community. Not because he demanded it, rather, he earned it. Mike cared. He always picked up. He fought for the underdog and created events for players to receive real exposure. There are countless efforts in which he dedicated his time to a player, a family, a business associate, or a friend in need. It’s rare to meet someone with such qualities that Mike shared with us.
On Friday, May 15th, we learned that Michael Quartey has unexpectedly departed us way too soon at the age of 47. He had been on the grind with the startup of the FCS National Bowl 15 years ago and just recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Tropical Bowl. Yet, Mike was truly just entering his prime. This past December, Quartey sat down for an in-depth interview and shared some of the secrets to his success.
We Will Miss You Mike! Thank you for reading his story, please feel free to share with others. His legacy shall carry-on!
