All Access Football was on location for the James Madison Dukes 2026 Training Camp. JMU is favored to win the Sun Belt division and is expected to compete as one of the top mid-major programs in the country. Second-year head coach Bob Chesney is a rising, energetic, infectious head coach trending towards becoming a wanted commodity by P4 programs.
While JMU did not have a player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, they currently have four players on NFL rosters, including Liam Fornadel. A standout for the DC Defenders of the UFL, Fornadel recently signed with the New York Jets. JMU has churned out a few offensive line prospects in the past such as Aaron Stinnie, who enters his eighth NFL season with the New York Giants. Another JMU offensive lineman is on the radar for 2026: enter offensive tackle Patrick McMurtie. The seventh-year senior rises to the occasion against top competition and his film against second round pick Mike Green (Marshall) of the Ravens last year has caught the attention of NFL scouts.
Access our scouting intel below, which features boots on the ground evaluations, background and projections. The Dukes have an open quarterback competition with some familiar names, including one signal-caller who is drawing Taysom Hill comparisons, a loaded backfield attack, plus a legit 4.3 speedster wideout and an international player who is blazing a fast path to the pros.
