Since taking over for Ozzie Newsome in 2019, Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has been lights out with his draft selections. One of the most important elements when drafting is being able to hit on your first round picks. This is where high-impact players and foundational building blocks are typically selected.
That said, DeCosta deserves praise for being able to nail all five of his last first round picks, including Malaki Starks (2025), Nate Wiggins (2024), Zay Flowers (2023), Tyler Linderbaum (2022) and Kyle Hamilton (2022). The odds suggest that 2026 first round selection Olaivavega Ioane (pic: Ravens) stands a strong chance of starting from day one and also being another Day 1 gem.
The success of DeCosta and his front office scouting department extends well into the second and third days of the draft as well. At right tackle, second-round pick Roger Rosengarten (2024) enters his third season as a starter. A raw talent coming out of Washington, his play garnered two votes for the All Pro team, as he appears poised to emerge into upper-echelon status.
