The Cleveland Browns are an organization that is addicted to rebuilding. Under general manager Andrew Berry, the team is constantly seeking to outmaneuver other clubs come draft night.
In 2022, they traded their first round pick to Philadelphia (Jordan Davis). In 2023, the Browns traded their first round pick to Detroit (Jahmyr Gibbs). In 2024, they traded their first round pick to Jacksonville (Brian Thomas Jr.). In 2025, Cleveland again traded their number two overall selection to the Jaguars (Travis Hunter) in a trade-back scenario.
When you look at the collection of talent the Browns have bypassed, one might come to the conclusion that the Harvard grad Berry may have out-smarted himself. The trend continued in 2026, moving back three spots in the first round, which enabled Kansas City to select Mansoor Delane, widely considered the top cornerback in this year’s draft.
Arguably the best player in the NFL, defensive end Myles Garrett was one of just three Pro Bowl selections for the Browns. Also a seven-time All Pro, he was dealt to the Rams this offseason. Rookie Shedeur Sanders was named to the Pro Bowl, becoming the first Browns quarterback to earn such a distinction since Derek Anderson (2008). There has been talk that he too, could now be made available.
