2025 NFL YEARBOOK: NEW YORK JETS

AFC EAST || 2024 RECORD: 5-12 || AAF NFL POWER RANKING: 23

TEAM BRASS

Owner: Woody Johnson || General Manager: Doug Mougey || Head Coach: Aaron Glenn || Offensive Coordinator: Tanner Engstrand || Defensive Coordinator: Steve Wilks || Special Teams: Chris Banjo

REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

2025 NFLPA GRADES || OVERALL RANKINGS (29 of 32)

Treatment of Families: C- (24th) || Food / Dining Area: C- (29th) || Nutritionist / Dietician: B+ (13th) || Locker Room: D+ (26th) || Training Room: C (28th) || Training Staff: C (9th) || Weight Room: C+ (26th) || Strength Coaches: B (29th) || Team Travel: C+ (24th) || Head Coach: B (25th) || Ownership: F (32nd)

The Jets saw their overall ranking drop slightly from 21st in 2024 to 29th. Jets players believed that as a response to the feedback last season, management made conditions worse. The Jets ranked in the lower third in each category with ownership ranking the lowest in the league highlighting the “top-down” problems described by the players.

OVERVIEW

It has been a dormant decade for the New York Jets who have compiled nine consecutive seasons with a losing record. The new regime has their work cut out for them and it’s not expected to be a quick turnaround. First, they must undergo the Justin Fields experiment. New York did everything they possibly could to add more protection and new weapons to target on offense. There are certainly a lot of new moving parts that will need to be meshed but there is a sense of optimism surrounding the team under the leadership of first-time head coach Aaron Glenn.

BUST OUT PLAYERS

New York has focused on making sure quarterback Justin Fields is better protected than his predecessor and it begins with Olu Fashanu. The Penn State product began the year in a utility role as a swingman before settling into his natural left tackle spot. A position he is expected to assume this season and for many years to come … The youngest member of the Jets offensive line a year ago was center Joe Tippman. He has gained valuable experience as he enters year three but will need to improve upon his pass protection, in order to take the next step in his development … Getting after the quarterback is something that Will McDonald IV (photo: New York Jets) specializes in. He registered his first double-digit sack (10.5) campaign in year two. Now, the standard has been raised as he enters what appears to be a potential All-Pro caliber type year .. On special teams, undrafted free agent Xavier Gipson hasn’t been given his due as a return specialist but he has been one of the best in the business over the past two seasons, while also contributing on offense as a wideout.

2025 NFL DRAFT CLASS

ROUND | PICK | TEAM | PLAYER | POSITION | SCHOOL

Rd.1 No.7. Armand Membou, OT, Missouri — An explosive blocker with great athleticism, Membou can climb into the second level but lacks toughness and a killer instinct. He’s expected to slot in at right tackle.

Rd.2 No.42. Mason Taylor, TE, LSU — After bypassing on Tyler Warren in round one, the Jets score an excellent consolation prize in Taylor who brings immense upside.

Rd.3 No.73. Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State — One of the top performers during Senior Bowl week, Thomas showcased his ability to stick with just about anyone but a poor forty caused him to slide.

Rd.4 No.110. Arian Smith, WR, Georgia — Brace yourselves for the good and the bad with Smith who is one of the fastest athletes on the planet but has hands greased in butter.

Rd.4 No.130. Malachi Moore, S, Alabama — A hard-hitter, able to play either safety position, or slot corner, Moore has proved to be a competent player during his time in Tuscaloosa and should help strengthen the secondary depth.

Rd.5 No.162. Francisco Mauigoa, LB, Miami — A big, downhill thumper, Mauigoa plays as if his hair was on fire, covering an immense amount of ground sideline-to-sideline and plays with a physicality that should mesh well.

Rd.5 No.176. Tyler Baron, ER, Miami — Known for his toughness and relentless motor, Baron joins his Hurricanes teammate in Mauigoa, in an attempt to raise the level of competition with his great tenacity.
