ON LOCATION: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP

Our travels began in Foxborough, Massachusetts for our first observation of New England Patriots training camp. Next, it was off to Buffalo, New York, as we checked in with the Bills and rookie wideout Skyler Bell, who has sizzled.
Today, we deliver more sights and sounds from NFL Draft Bible scout Will Donoghue, who spent his second full practice surveying the Patriots training camp field on Saturday, August 1st. For the second consecutive day, New England opened up the ramps to a jam-packed Gillette Stadium, filled to the brink.
Below are five more key observations from Patriots camp, including first round draft pick Caleb Lomu, who has gotten extensive reps working with the first team unit.

FIVE [MORE] KEY OBSERVATIONS FROM PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP
Caleb Lamu Looks Like The Real Deal. Rookie right tackle Caleb Lomu continues to take reps with the starters, as veteran Morgan Moses (workload management) remains limited. Lomu had one of his best sessions thus far during one-on-one drills, flashing spurts of dominance. However, it hasn’t been all roses for the first round pick. He left the gate door wide open when linebacker Dremont Jones put an outside move on him and was beaten by local product Que Hutchins on an inside finesse move. Hutchins, a seventh round draft pick out of Boston College has done very well establishing his presence early on in camp by setting the edge.
Positive Development Surrounding Gabe Jacas. Defensive end Gabe Jacas made his rookie training camp debut. After a lengthy holdout, Jacas finally agreed to terms with the team and was medically cleared to take the field. He missed most of the offseason due to a ‘clean up’ procedure on his left knee. There was increased talk around Patriots camp that Jacas could potentially be redshirted this year, so it was good to see him out on the field. In fact, his high motor was on fully display, running over linebackers coach Mike Smith during bag drills. Jacas will remain limited in the short-term, according to New England head coach Mike Vrabel.
