SENIOR BOWL DAY 2: NEED 4 SPEED
Who are the fastest players in Mobile? We run through the top speeds at each of the notable positions. You can’t teach speed, as pro scouts and coaches alike are always on the lookout for elite burst. Quite a few Oregon players brought the need for speed, including wide receiver Tez Johnson and linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, both of whom cracked the 20mph mark, according to Catapult. As did Georgia running back Trevor Etienne and Washington State wideout Kyle Williams. However, the fastest player thus far has been a surprising defensive back. Tune-in and find out.
SENIOR BOWL RECAP: DAY 2 PRACTICE 1
No one knows the trenches like Baldy who played a decade in the NFL on offensive line. He pinpointed Boston College offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo as one player who impressed with size, length and physicality, as he consistently showed up during one-on-one drills. On defense, Iowa defensive tackle Yahya Black has proven to be one of the more imposing figures in Mobile, demonstrating great strength and the ability to pass rush from the interior. However, no player will depart Mobile having done more to improve their draft stock than Grey Zabel of North Dakota State. Baldy and Ric break down the first practice session from Day 2 of Senior Bowl practice.
SENIOR BOWL RECAP: DAY 2 PRACTICE 2
It’s time to get defensive with three players who have raised their draft profile during practice week. Standing out from the pack would be Tennessee defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott who has been a disruptor through the first two days. His quick get off, low center of gravity and non-stop motor were sure to turn some heads. The feisty Eugene Asante of Auburn is an alpha linebacker with a true nose for the football. He has flashed some rush ability and has been a vocal leader during team drills. In addition, Oklahoma safety Billy Bowman has shown why he’s a big-time playmaker, blending top-notch anticipation, with rare read-and-react instincts.
