The new Jacksonville regime of general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen was very successful in year one, finishing 13-4 overall, a nine-win improvement from the previous year. The Jaguars were ousted by the Buffalo Bills in the NFL playoffs wild card round. Despite widespread criticism for their most recent 2026 draft class, the organization expects to contend for a Super Bowl this season.
Jacksonville made a bold move during the 2025 NFL Draft, packaging their 2025 and 2026 first round picks to the Cleveland Browns for the rights to two-way player Travis Hunter (pic: Jaguars), chosen with the No.2 overall pick. Many skeptics questioned whether Hunter possessed the frame to withstand the physical demands to play both wideout and cornerback, which he did at both Colorado and Jackson State. Ultimately, he would wind up suffering a torn LCL in his right knee, causing him to miss the final 10 games of his first NFL season.
The franchise also selected running backs Bhayshul Tuten in the fourth round and LeQuint Allen Jr. in the seventh round. The instant success of Tuten made Travis Etienne (Saints) expendable this offseason, as the explosive back is expected to assume the starting role and appears to be on the verge of a bust out campaign. Meanwhile, Allen Jr. is in line to be the backup after an impressive training camp performance last summer.
