2025 NFL DRAFT BIG BOARD: CORNERBACKS
The cornerback class is locked and loaded for 2025! The term generational should only be applied to the rare once-in-a-lifetime type talents. Colorado superstar Travis Hunter would fit the term. We may never see another player average nearly 120 snaps per game for as long as we live! To do it at an elite level such as Hunter, makes him every bit worthy of being the No.1 overall pick. Let’s clear the air shall we? He is a premier cornerback first and foremost. If NFL teams wish to use him on offense, it will most likely involve a package of plays for the sensational Heisman Trophy winner.
Despite taking home the hardware reserved for the top player in college football, Hunter did not win the Thorpe Award, given to the nation’s top defensive back. That honor would go to Jahdae Barron (photo: UT Athletics) of Texas. Considered one of the ‘smaller’ cornerbacks in this year’s class, Barron is also one of the stickiest defenders with a true nose for the ball coming up with five interceptions this past year.
Entering the season, players such as Will Johnson of Michigan and Benjamin Morrison of Notre Dame were viewed as top-tier prospects. However, injuries have derailed their path to the draft of sorts. The NFL Scouting Combine will serve as a critical step in determining how healthy and ready they are to compete. Both players are lengthy, fast, aggressive cover corners.
Several all-star game standouts sent scouts back to the film room, including Azareye’h Thomas of Florida State who flashed first round potential during the week of Senior Bowl practices, along with Nohl Williams of California who was as smooth and instinctual as any corner we witnesssed along the scouting trails. Let us not forget the remarkable run that O’Donnell Fortune of South Carolina had, first starring at the Hula Bowl, then turning heads with another strong showing at the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Below is a look at our top 50 cornerbacks as we head into Indy. Be sure to reserve your copy of the Official 2025 NFL Draft Bible for final, expanded big board rankings, in-depth scouting reports, medical and character for 500+ prospects, projections, interviews and look ahead at the Class of 2026.
