1. The Bill Walsh Philosophy Lives On.

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is one of the few general managers who believe in drafting or bringing in a young developmental quarterback each and every offseason. This year is no different, as the team traded for Dorian Thompson Robinson from the Cleveland Browns and also selected Syracuse signal-caller Kyle McCord in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft. With current backup Tanner McKee slotted in as one of the most competent backup quarterbacks in the NFL, difficult decisions will need to be made in terms of the pecking order after starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. With ‘DTR’ and McCord locked in a dead heat for the number three job, each quarterback split reps during the Eagles preseason finale, with McCord appearing to be slightly on top. The odds seem to be in favor of the rookie but it will be a very close call.

2. Can Saquan Barkley Overcome The 2K Jinx?

It will require Saquan Barkley to have another career year, if he is going to defy the odds once again in 2025. Coming off a season in which he rushed for a career-high 2,005 yards on the ground and added 278 receiving yards, Barkley accumulated 388 total touches. Thats a lot of hits to absorb! In the history of the NFL, every runner who has ever hit the 2k marker, has endured significant drop off the following year. After participating in 19 games a year ago, Barkely will be relied upon heavily once again. Something worth monitoring early on in the regular season is how they manage his workload. Philadelphia has an extremely tough schedule to begin the season, so there might not be any rest for the weary.
