New Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi is just five months on the job but the NFL should take note of the championship-caliber roster that is currently under construction. A big step forward would appear to be in motion for the upcoming season.
As a result of having the worst record in the league, Tennessee landed the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They invested that pick wisely, selecting franchise quarterback Cam Ward (pic: NFL). For much of the early part of his career, Ward has vastly been a one-man show. Not for much longer. The Titans have stockpiled talent where it matters most.
Protecting Ward has become top priority. Tennessee built up their offensive line with first round picks JC Latham (2024 NFL Draft) and Peter Skoronski (2023 NFL Draft). Keeping the quarterback upright will be a key area of emphasis this upcoming season, as Ward has often been forced out of the pocket and forced to improvise.
Additionally, Tennessee has made getting after the quarterback a top priority. They utilized a first round pick on pass-rusher Keldric Faulk in the 2026 NFL Draft and a second round pick on Oluwafemi Oladejo in the 2024 NFL Draft. An early-season injury to Oladejo cut short his rookie campaign but optimism remains high surrounding his development.
The Tiatns had two first round picks this past year and used the No.4 overall selection to add to the collection of weapons for Ward. Ohio State All American wideout Carnell Tate is expected to make an immediate impact and rise to the top of the depth chart. In fact, Tennessee doubled-down on adding ammo this offseason, signing free agent target Wan’Dale Robinson, whom Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll made a focal point of the offense during their time together with the Giants.
With Tate and Robinson significantly upgrading the wide receiver corps, suddenly the Titans have the potential for an explosive offensive arsenal. Last season, rookie wideouts Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor provided glimpses of big-play capability. Few players came on stronger down the stretch for Tennessee than Dike, a speedy, shifty, slot option who also brings dynamic return ability. More of a boundary target, Ayomanor flashed with some highlight-reel, acrobatic catches and seemed to improve each week.
