2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS

Location: Knoxville, TN || Conference: SEC || Head Coach: Josh Heupel (5 Years: 45-20; Career: 73-28) || NFL Draft Picks Under Heupel: 22 (4.4 per year) || First Round Picks Under Heupel: 2 || Number of 2026 NFL Draft Picks: 5 || Volunteers in NFL: 39 (as of 5/21/26)

The Tennessee Volunteers enter the 2026 season with lots of departed stars who went onto the NFL. In fact, the Vols nearly had a player selected in every round of the 2026 NFL Draft and their total of five selections matched the most ever during the six years that Josh Heupel has been at the helm. The list of top prospects for the 2027 class features a nice mix of seniors and underclassmen.

Stud linebacker Arion Carter returned to Knoxville for one more season after flirting with entering the draft. He enjoyed a highly productive year, despite battling through a turf toe injury. His leadership and experience provides the defense with a veteran presence, as Carter is the glue that bonds them together. Joining him in the linebacker room will be Amare Campbell, who followed new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles over from Penn State.

On offense, the Vols are fueled by a pair of playmaking wideouts in Braylon Staley and Mike Matthews, who bring the need for speed. The Vols lost 1,000-yard receiver Chris Brazzell II (Panthers), which means more targets will be available for Staley and Matthews, who remarkably each had over 800 yards receiving in their own right a year ago. They will have a new quarterback this season, as the school also saw Joey Aguilar (Jaguars) graduate.
