2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: TEXAS LONGHORNS

Location: Austin, TX || Conference: SEC || Head Coach: Steve Sarkisian (5 Years: 48-20; Career: 93-55) || NFL Draft Picks Under Sarkisian: 34 (6.8 per year) || First Round Picks Under Sarkisian: 6 || Number of 2026 NFL Draft Picks: 6 || Gamecocks in NFL: 56 (as of 5/22/26)

The Texas sun is heating up and the Longhorns prospects are blazing a hot path to the 2027 NFL Draft. With three potential players who could land inside the top ten, Texas might just have the most talented roster in college football. The school set a program record during the 2025 NFL Draft with 12 players selected (Texas had 11 players drafted in 2024), a mark that could be broken in 2027.

It was a down year for the 2026 NFL Draft, as the Longhorns had just six players chosen but they have come back reloaded with more ammunition than ever before, a testament to the masterful job that head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have done in recruiting.

There were positive signs of development from quarterback Arch Manning towards the end of last season, as he began to deliver on some of the hype surrounding his legacy. Another step forward is expected this season, as Manning should compete for the right to be the top quarterback drafted but does have one more year of eligibility remaining after this one.

Joining the white and burnt orange will be explosive wideout Cam Coleman, who comes over from Auburn with ideal size and alluring speed. He will pair with Ryan Wingo to form one of the most dynamic wide receiver tandems in the nation. With Manning throwing them the ball, this offense could produce more fireworks than the Fourth of July.

However, a strong case could be made that the Longhorns’ top-rated prospect is Colin Simmons (pic: Texas Athletics). The junior pass-rusher has shredded the SEC through his first two seasons, displaying a diverse pass-rush arsenal, along with immense athleticism and power, which results in bushels of sacks. Considering the wealth of talent, it would not be surprising to see one of these Longhorns selected as the number one overall pick.
