2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS

Location: Piscataway, NJ || Conference: B1G || Head Coach: Greg Schiano (17 Years: 99-108) || NFL Draft Picks Under Schiano: 25 (1.5 per year) || First Round Picks Under Schiano: 3 || Number of 2026 NFL Draft Picks: 1 || Scarlet Knights in NFL: 20 (as of 6/27/26)

The Rutgers football program is at a bit of a crossroads. On one hand, head coach Greg Schiano has been arguably the most successful head coach in school history. During the heigh t of his success during his first stint as Rutgers head coach (2001-2011), he enjoyed a consecutive five-year stretch in which he produced a first, or second round draft pick.

Unfortunately, his second stint (2020-present), which coincided with a move to the Big Ten, has not treated Schiano as kind, as the team has produced just two winning seasons. Of the eight draft selections since, all of them except for Max Melton (Cardinals-Rd2) have been chosen in the sixth of seventh round. The team deperately needs to take the next step.

There is optimism for the 2027 NFL Draft, as Rutgers could produce a first round pick for the first time since Devin McCourty (2010). Lengthy wideout KJ Duff is one of the best-kept secrets in college football. Ironically, he strikes a similar resemblance to another former Scarlet Knights first round selection in Kenny Britt (2009). Despite overtures from numerous programs to enter the portal, Duff, a local product from nearby Riverhead, New York, remained loyal to Rutgers.

One other player to watch is running back Antwan Raymond (pic: Rutgers Athletics). After a bust out 2025 campaign, the Canadien runner could be the next back to emerge from Rutgers, following in the footsteps of Kyle Monangai (Bears), Isiah Pacheco (Lions). Keep reading for the top-rated Rutgers prospects.
