The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are a serious contender to win the National Championship, as the school continues to chase their first title since 1988. Highly sought after head coach Marcus Freeman has elevated the program to new heights since the abrupt departure of Brian Kelly.
Star quarterback CJ Carr (pic: Notre Dame Athletics) enters his second season as the starter and is expected to take the next step in his development. He has shown flashes of becoming a Drew Brees-type of prospect due to his quick decision-making, accuracy and smarts. Carr is sure to benefit from the Fighting Irish offensive line, which is one of the best units in the nation.
On defense, the Fighting Irish have three potential Day 1 picks at each level of the defense, including pass-rusher Boubacar Traore, linebacker Kyngston Vilamu-Asa and cornerback Leonard Moore, who some draft observers believe could contend to be the top overall pick come April.
