2027 NFL DRAFT TRACKER: CLEMSON TIGERS

The stubborn refusal of Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney to adpapt to the modern day NIL landscape has caused the program to fade in recent seasons. During a five-year span between 2015-through-2019, Clemson lost a total of just five games and delivered on two National Championships. Since the turn of the new decade, the Tigers have lost 22 games, falling to 7-6 in 2025.
Some might say this is a defining season for Swinney and the Tigers. Reluctantly and uncharacteristically, Swinney dipped into the transfer portal, plucking 17 new players. One prospect of note expected to see an increased role is Chris Johnson Jr., who spent the last three years at Miami and was stuck behind Mark Fletcher Jr. on the Hurricanes depth chart.
The biggest question mark entering the season is at quarterback. Entering the season, fourth-year junior Christopher Vizzina is expected to assume the starting role. He backed up Cade Klubnik last season but will have a new offensive coordinator in Chad Morris. Waiting in the wings will be true freshman Tait Reynolds, if Vizzina falters. No matter who’s slinging it, there will be plenty of weapons for these signal-callers to choose from.
Clemson has produced several Pro Bowl caliber wideouts in recent seasons, including Tee Higgins (Bengals) and DeAndre Hopkins (Free Agent). This past year, Antonio Williams (Commanders) was chosen in the third round of the NFL Draft. Look for this trend to continue, as both Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore (pic: Clemson Athletics) are considered early round draft-eligible candidates. Additionally, speedy slot target Tyler Brown is also expected to receive some next level looks.
