North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren enters his 14th season at the helm for the Wolfpack as the school’s winningest head coach. During that time, Doeren has built a highly competitive program, while churning out NFL talent on a consistent basis.
The Wolfpack enter 2026 armed and dangerous. One of the best kept secrets in college football, quarterback CJ Bailey (photo: NC State Athletics) possesses a howitzer for an arm. Over the past two seasons as a starter, Bailey has flashed big-time potential, along with the ability to make all the throws. He created a bit of a buzz for himself at the Manning Passing Academy this past summer and has carried over that momentum into camp.
Should Bailey continue his development, he could be the ultimate wild card this April and a potential first round pick. In fact, Bailey is the most accomplished passer during the Doeren tenure since Jacoby Brissett (2016 third round pick). During his time in Raleigh, Doeren has produced three first rounds picks, including Ikem Ekwonu (2022), Garrett Bradbury (2019) and Bradley Chubb (2018). Bailey seeks to join this exclusive group.
